Happy Friday Y’all!  I am not super great at introducing myself or my friends when we are meeting new people, so this shouldn’t really be surprising, I failed to really introduce myself!

Hi. I’m Haley.  I was born in Tupelo, Mississippi {Elvis is from Tupelo!}.  Fun fact, the day I was born {2.2.85}, there was a huge snowstorm in Northeast Mississippi, my grandpa still has snow from the day I was born in the freezer at his house.  I’ve lived in Mississippi, Utah, Colorado, Michigan, South Carolina, and Upstate New York.  Even though I have lived in so many states, and Utah for the majority of my life now, I am a Southern girl at heart.

Thoughts on Friendship

Friends, being an adult is hard.  If my 16-year-old self knew how many hard choices and responsibilities I was going to have to face when I became a “grown up”, I never would have grown up.  Over the last couple of years, I have been really tried in my friendships and sometimes, I have failed.

The Lovely Lunch

On Saturday, I was able to go to The Lovely Lunch hosted by Jacque of Looks for Lovelies and sponsored by Cents of Style.  I went with my friends Alyssa and Angie.  Angie and I have blogs, Alyssa is thinking of starting her own, and we’re all making strides toward starting a collaborative blog with a few other friends, so this was a perfect event for us to go to {plus goodies from Cents of Style are hard to resist}.

The lunch was at Cafe Trio, which if you haven’t been there you need to get your booty over there – so good!  I was a little late, per usual these days, but everything got started with some socializing and networking.  I cannot figure out how to be a better networker, I am painfully shy when it comes to stuff like that {if anyone has any tips throw them out in the comments – for real}.  But luckily I was there with two of my BFFs so we worked as a group and met quite a few new people.

Hey Friends!

welcome_back

Hey ya’ll!

I am sure some of you are wondering where the heck I have been over the past 6 months, well the answer is, right here.  I haven’t been in the right head space to blog about anything really.  I was so unhappy with my life and the direction that it was going that it started to seep into things that I loved.  It took my former figure skating coach, who happens to be my current friend/mentor/boss to point it out to me that I was in such a bad mood whenever I came to the rink that people didn’t want to talk to me.  At the time, and even now, I can’t tell you what the one main cause of that six month grinch spell was {if there was one main cause} – but I know that I am done with it.  Are the unhappy feelings still around? Sure.  Do I have to let them stop me from doing the things I want to do? Absolutely not.

So here we are, I am sitting in my home office watching snow fall {finally} in the mountains of Utah – excited to share and learn with you and from you!  Here’s what you can look forward too this week on Monograms & Mustard Greens – motivation, goal setting, new friends, new recipes, and new reads!

I am excited to be back to blogging and I hope you’ll come along on this journey with me!

Enough about me, how have you been the last 6 months?
